Barcelona Historic Walking Tour & Food Experience

“My husband and I really enjoyed the evening with Christian! Far more than just a food tour, we got an introduction to several neighborhoods in Barcelona and lots of interesting history. And the food was great! This experience is a great value and we highly recommend.” (Ron & Anne (Durham, North Carolina, USA, October 2022)

Discover Spanish food and Barcelona history. As we venture through narrow back alleys and historic squares, we will learn about Barcelona from Roman times to the medieval golden era. With three stops in distinct restaurants we will also show you the broad variety of tapas!

After meeting in the Roman heart of the city it is time to build up your appetite! We will start our history walk through the oldest part of Barcelona: the Gothic Quarter. Our first stop is a traditional pinchos bar: snacks connected by cocktail stick to a slice of bread.

Afterwards we will pass through the medieval center: El Born. Learn about craftsmen and rich merchants of that time who left an impressive legacy with their palaces and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. Our next tapas bar is known for its regionality – all the food comes from local fields and farms. We will try out a variety of elaborated and high quality tapas.

Before we arrive to our final and sweetest stop – deserts – we will stroll further through the back alleys of El Born and make the historic connection to the independence movement that has grown into a strong political stream in Catalonia.

By the time we part ways you will have heard a great deal of Barcelona´s history and discovered two magnificent neighbourhoods while having tried out a range of local food!
