On August 11, 2021 we welcomed our 2500th guest. We are extremely happy having achieved this milestone despite the COVID pandemic. Having started our business for private tours in March 2018 with our signature tour “Explore hidden streets with a friend”, over time we have extended our portfolio into several areas: from history and architecture to panoramic tours, culinary experiences and a wine tour. Today we are passionate Barcelona experts and were recently awarded with the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice award 2021.
How we started: Explore hidden streets with a friend – Barcelona off-the-beaten-track
Our first experience focuses on historic places in the old town of Barcelona. We designed a walking tour where we escape mass tourism and discover authentic areas of El Born and the Gothic Quarter. Enjoying a drink on a magical square completes the experience to feel like a local. We connected the dots between our favourite areas in the historic center and while we go have beautiful stories to tell. If you love history and story telling, then this private tour is for you.
Catalan Modernism: Gaudí & Barcelona Legends
Barcelona is the city of the famous architect Gaudí. We designed a compact two hours walking tour to give you a great introduction into Gaudí´s work and other architects that were part of the art movement of Catalan Modernism. “Gaudí and Barcelona Legends” will also uncover the most important legends of the city and make the connection from the past to the current independence movement.
Barcelona Wine Tour: Champagne & Chocolate
Cava and Chocolate – a tradition here in Catalonia! This inspired us for our third experience. Having become friends with a local cava maker in Sant Sadurni d`Anoia we love to share our common passion for Cava with guests from all over the world. During a visit of the premises of this family run business we explain all about the arts of cava making and also offer an extensive tasting of premium organic cava. As the town is also home to a Catalan chocolate maker with a 175 years history, we will visit the factory and try out their high quality chocolates. If you would like to enjoy day trip out of Barcelona, then you should not miss our culinary experience “Intimate Champagne and Chocolate Getaway”.
Barcelona is more than a city: We launched our Nature Walk
This is a great way to escape the busy city and enjoy the nature that surrounds Barcelona. With amazing panoramic views we cross the Collserola mountain range and reward ourselves after a three hours hike with fantastic tapas in the medieval town of Sant Cugat. This is ideal for those who would like to escape the bustling city for a while and discover a completely different side of the life here in Barcelona.
Collaboration with Mosaiccos, leading ambassador of Catalan artisanship
We also launched an experience called “Feel like Gaudí – Modernist Tour and Mosaic Workshop” where we expand our architectural walking tour with an hands-on experience. Collaborating with MOSAICCOS we offer a one our workshop in which you get an introduction into the mosaic technique that Gaudí use and perfectionized. You will create your own souvenir that you can take away! In a second joint experience – “More than Gaudí” – we focus on works that are not Gaudí and combine it with a more extensive mosaic workshop.
We felt that Montjuïc Hill is a hidden gem not discovered by the majority of our guests
One of our favourite areas in Barcelona is Montjuïc Hill. We have always had the feeling that it is a rather underrated area for guests when coming to Barcelona. So, we feel you should not miss this. We designed a three hours walking tour full of panoramic views while you “Discover the Olympic Mountain“. We will reward ourselves with a drink in a hidden beer garden that is completely off-the-beaten track. Escape the busy city for an afternoon!
When the COVID pandemic struck we got creative: “Zoom Around Panoramic Barcelona”
During the COVID pandemic, when all tourism activities stopped, we created an online experience called “Zoom Around Panoramic Barcelona”. This is a great way to learn and plan your first trip to the city. Many companies joined us for virtual corporate events and team building such as SAP, Salesforce, Sanofi or Google. It is an interactive live session led by an experienced and enthusiastic tour guide using materials such as photos and videos and tools like Google Earth and Google Street View. You will listen to fascinating story telling!
Our first post pandemic in-person experience: Tapas and history, a culinary discovery
When in July 2021 travelling became possible again thanks to strong vaccination programmes around the globe we were finally able to launch our culinary experience: “Barcelona History & Food Experience“. During three hours you will learn about the history of Barcelona and discover the broad range of Spanish tapas. This is a great to discover the historic center of Barcelona in a very relaxed way.
